Welcome to the spring tour page at tangledblue.com.

Here is a 7 minute promotional video from 2005 that will tell you more about Tangled Blue. It's a bit dated at this point, but will give you an idea of how two people can create so much sound in a live performance. The video is in mp4/QuickTime format.

Listen to a full version of Because You Love Me. This is more of a rock song with Aimée singing lead vocals and playing drums and bass; Joel does the backing vocals and electric guitar. Click here to view the lyrics.

TANGLED BLUE? (a brief history)

Tangled Blue began in the winter of 1995 when the duo first met, but they didn’t realize it until five years later. In the summer of 2000, Aimée (vocals, percussion) and Joel (vocals, guitar) performed together for the first time.

In September of 2001 Aimée and Joel were married and would soon start performing together as Tangled Blue. Tangled Blue’s first recording was completed in early 2003. Recorded at a farm house in Menomonie, Wisconsin, it is a caffeinated folk-rock blend of songs that have shown their durability as the duo traveled with them over 333,000 miles of U.S. highways in a VW van. In 2005 Aimée and Joel relocated to Texas and in early 2007 left for an extended tour that has taken them from Texas to Hawaii to Florida to the Dakotas and everywhere in between. With a new residence in Minneapolis Minnesota, Tangled Blue completed a new recording based on the season of Advent in November of 2008.

OK, so what does Tangled Blue sound like?

It is a unique sound that incorporates latin and electronic percussion as well as acoustic and electric guitars. This music was created largely in front of audiences, so it is designed to engage the listener. Hearing these troubadours in concert with their infectious melodies and stories is an experience the listener won’t soon forget. Tangled Blue performs throughout the U.S. at churches, coffee shops, colleges and festivals. email us.
