In Lutheran Confessions class last semester Dr. Krueger shared about how Cranach painted a boar into the pulpit as a reference to how the papal bull depicted Luther as a “boar loose in the vineyard”. I love the imagery… and tonight I got to sit and just enjoy evening prayer from the pews of the Town Church in Wittenberg where this painting resides. #luther500 #tangledblue
