We had the honor of writing and recording a song for the 2020 Assembly of the Rocky Mountain Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. It just debuted online! The video was made by Rev. Kent Mueller (Assistant to the Bishop for Leadership Support). The song lyrics were influenced by some truly lovely conversations with Deacon Erin Power (Assistant to the Bishop for Synodical Life), Deacon Sarah Mielke Bjornebo, and Rocky Mountain Synod musicians utilizing the themes and scriptures that were lifted up in the 2020 Assembly.

The South Carolina Synod of the ELCA has also licensed our song for their 2020 synod assembly. Here’s the video on Facebook.

Recorded in the fellowship hall at Advent Lutheran Church in Westminster, CO in March/April 2020. We’ll be posting a musical score here soon if you want to utilize this song in your congregation. Anyone interested in making a virtual choir version of this tune? Let’s chat

One with All in Christ – a song to commemorate 50 / 40 / 10

Chorus
Sing out sisters, all are free; tell the brothers, come and see.
Spirit calling, all to be, one with all in Christ.

Miriam sings, honor she brings; calling with rhythm and dance. (Exodus 15)
Deborah leads, courage she seeds, blessings received as she stands. (Judges 4-5)
Here we stand.
Sing out sisters, all are free; tell the brothers, come and see.
Spirit calling, all to be, one with all in Christ.

Our sister Ruth speaks of the truth that God breaks all borders in time. (Ruth 1-2)
Sisters still bring news of the King, risen in glory God shines. (Matthew 28)
Now’s the time.
Sing out sisters, all are free; tell the brothers, come and see.
Spirit calling, all to be, one with all in Christ.

Some have been told, not to be bold, but hearts have been opened to see. (Paul’s conversion – Acts 9)
Spirit abides, and now resides in freedom and liberty. (Ethiopian Eunuch – Acts 8:26-39)
Come and see.
Sing out siblings, all are free; everyone, come and see.
Spirit calling, all to be, one with all in Christ.

Aimée sang and played the drums and bass
Joel played the penny whistle, guitar, and keyboards
